Taraji P. Henson
made a big money move to ensure that she maintains full control of her burgeoning beauty brand, TPH.

According to WWD, Henson bought her haircare and skincare brand, TPH by Taraji, for an undisclosed amount from leading beauty incubator, Maesa. Now, she has 100% ownership and control of her company.

“Over the past few months I have been in discussions with my partners at Maesa regarding the future of the TPH by Taraji brand, and am pleased to say we have reached a mutually beneficial agreement that has afforded me the opportunity to buy back TPH,” Henson said in an email to WWD. “From Day One, our shared vision was to create a brand that celebrates hair and scalp with high-performance products rooted in self care, efficacy and inclusivity.”

Founded in 2020, TPH by Taraji quickly made a mark in the beauty industry with its innovative haircare solutions, offering nourishment, protection, and deep cleansing for every hair type, texture, and style. Initially, the brand offered products designed to promote scalp health, repair damage, and even maintain wigs. Henson has since expanded the brand to include body care essentials, such as skin cleansers, scrubs, and restorative products aimed at enhancing skin hydration.
