She started in healthcare as a respiratory practitioner because she loved helping people and helping to save lives.
“Saving a life can also mean emotional and mental saving. As a woman who survived a traumatic medical experience that affected my emotional state and my self-confidence I asked myself, how many other women feel how I feel?” she shared.
Her business was initially started to help restore confidence in women who have lost their eyebrows, hair, or breasts due to alopecia, chemotherapy, autoimmune diseases, medications etc.
“Once I started training to be a brow artist, I realized that there was a need not just for women with medical ailments, but also regular every day working women who want to save time from drawing their brows, penciling their brows, or to seek confidence the may lack due to thin, sparse brows, “she shares.
Pretty in Pink Beauty Bar offers eyebrow microblading, microshading, 3D areola tattoos after a mastectomy due to breast cancer and scalp micro-pigmentation. She warns to check practitioners’ work carefully before you get permanent eyebrows.
“It’s very very important to make sure that you go to a highly skilled and trained artist, especially for eyebrows because it’s your face and it’s difficult to undo it if it’s not done correctly. So you want to make sure that the brows are constructed to match your facial features, to match your bone structure, and that the pigment color matches not only your skin tones but also your undertones,” she advises.
JaQuitta grew up in Westchester County NY in a small town called Peekskill in a rough public housing complex called Dunbar Heights.
“I always knew there was so much outside of my little town I wanted to conquer. My parents were divorced, My father was a drug addict so he was absent most of my life until I became an adult married with children and he got his self clean before his passing. But that played a huge part in my life, I knew that I wanted to instill the value of family, education and success into my children,” she reveals.
