Natasha Rothwell might play a caftan-loving reiki healing hippy on the HBO drama The White Lotus, but she prefers full glam in real life. The writer and actress stalks the red carpet in sexy suits, gilded gowns, and girlish poufs.
She rarely plays it safe by choosing dowdy, shapeless shifts or princessy columns. She chooses smart, modern options that give an abundance of main character energy.
Her red carpet looks have structure, whimsy, and tons of color. As someone who constantly calls out fatphobia by advocating for those in larger bodies, her sense of fashion feels like a public rebuke of the idea that you can not be stylish at any size. “The airplane seats aren’t going to fit everyone, and you walk into a store and it might not have plus-size clothing. The world is screaming at me constantly that I don’t belong or that I’m too much,” she told Forbes in September.
She attended the season three premiere of The White Lotus in a lovely gown from Naeem Khan that complimented her skin tone perfectly. It was covered with beading that glowed against her body, leaping from the sheer overlay.
Rothwell served in a ruby red gown from Safiyaa at the 74th Emmy Awards. The brand used the taffeta material in a sophisticated way that was worthy of the occasion. She told Vanity Fair that she was taped into the dress. The go-to stylist’s magic trick paid off. Rothwell looked flawless on TV’s biggest night as she usually does.
