Vice President Kamala Harris might not have been present for Day two of the Democratic National Convention but her effect on the Democratic Party and this presidential election could be felt around the world. The VP had ventured to Milwaukee, flexing her ability to pack out two conventions at one time, where she wore a battleground blue suit to gain the leg up on her competition.

The energy at the DNC was unlike anything we’ve ever felt or seen before. From Lil’ Jon turning up the ceremonial roll call representing Georgia’s delegates to DJ Cassidy playing Dr. Dre and “They Not Like Us” during California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s speech, it’s clear Vice President Kamala Harris has breathed new life into the democratic party.
Kamala Harris’ Suit Game Is Unmatched
VP Harris continued her mean suit game in a sleek blue blazer and trousers, opting for a black blouse with her statement pin on the lapel and matching black pumps. The look was a departure from the tan suit she wore the day before. The symbolic gesture was a nod to her friend and supporter, former President Obama. Obama sparked controversy when he wore the untraditional attire in August 2014. For Kamala, it is a bold fashion statement that says, I’m here.
The VP was captured exiting the plane, 80 miles away, in the important battleground state of Wisconsin — a typically Democratic state that unexpectedly turned red for Donald Trump in the 2016 election, leaving then-President hopeful Hillary Clinton with no path to the White House. Clinton had to forgo visiting the state in what is now seen as one of her biggest campaign flaws. VP Harris won’t make the same mistake.
Michelle Obama’s Pant Set
While Harris was in Wisconsin, Forever FLOTUS Michelle Obama and Barack Obama were in Chicago where all eyes were peeled to the podium for the beloved political figures. And they didn’t disappoint. In the words of our sister site NewsOne, Barack and Michelle took turns dragging Trump.
Michelle also wore deep blue, but instead of the traditional suit, she wore a look by Monse with military crisscross detail over the belted blazer and matching pants. Her braids were pulled back into a braided ponytail, and silver hoop earrings adorned her ears.
Barack, who knew very well the anticipation of his wife’s words, introduced the former First Lady and she did the rest.
“We don’t have the luxury of whining or cheating others,” Michelle Obama said. “If we see a mountain in the way, we don’t expect an escalator to take us to the top.”
