If your spring wardrobe plans include short shorts, a snatched suit and absolutely no interest in blending in, Sergio Hudson has some ideas for you.
The designer brought his Spring/Summer 2027 collection to the Rainbow Room during New York Fashion Week, filling the runway with bold color, strong shoulders, animal print and silhouettes made for the it girls.
The collection had all of Hudson’s signatures with a little danger and mystery.
The inspiration was “James Bond in reverse,” Hudson told press. Instead of having the woman get chased, as we usually see in spy movies, Hudson flipped the script. In his world, she is in control, fierce and, as he put it, “on the prowl.”
Hudson translated that attitude through sharp tailoring, waist-snatching silhouettes, jumpsuits, fitted dresses, bold suiting and skin-baring pieces. Reds, purples, yellow, crisp white and animal print moved across the runway, while headscarves, oversized sunglasses and wide belts helped build his spy-girl world.
The shoes deserved their own moment, too. Hudson partnered with Larroudé on pointed pumps in red, black and snakeskin, along with crystal-covered blue heels that brought extra shine to the runway.
