Doechii’s song “Anxiety” is a global viral sensation. And now, the melodic earworm has officially reached nostalgic proportions—with a little help from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Will Smith and Tatyana Ali took to social media to re-create a popular scene from the ’90s hit sitcom. In the original clip, Tatyana is dancing in her room with her Walkman, completely lost in the music. Will walks in, catching her mid-groove.

Fast-forward to now, and the classic scene syncs perfectly with Doechii’s “Anxiety”—so much so that after watching the song take off online, Will decided to share the original Fresh Prince moment. The internet ate it up, and then he took it a step further: He and Tatyana re-created the entire scene, this time in 2025. To make the moment even sweeter, Doechii ran in at the end of the clip, dancing alongside them.

The clip is the type of moment that brings generations together—the ’80s and ’90s babies reminiscing on their childhood. At the same time, Gen Z (and everyone else) continues to push Doechii’s star even higher.

Doechi is just that girl

We already know breakout star Doechii—real name Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon—is having a moment. She’s been on nearly every major broadcast outlet, gracing the covers of the biggest magazines and platforms. Her Grammy for Best Rap Album is probably still fresh on her mantle. She had Fashion Week in a chokehold, with her presence alone carrying the energy of the streets.

And more than anything, she’s just that girl.

She’s authentically herself—bold, unapologetic, yet vulnerable and real. She embraces her beauty, her flaws, her room for growth.

It’s refreshing. It makes you root for the Swamp Princess.

All of this has only made her music even more unstoppable. Her song Anxiety from the Alligator Bites Never Heal mixtape has taken on a life of its own.

A fresh sound. A cultural throwback. A moment that brought together generations. If there’s one thing Doechii knows how to do, it’s make us pay attention.
