IU is about to have a mascot for the first time in over 50 years.
Indiana University made the exciting announcement that the student government has voted for the return of “Hoosier the Bison.”
The Bison became Indiana University’s official mascot in 1965, however the mascot disappeared a few years later in 1969. Since then, IU has been without a mascot.
After 50 years IU is ready to “unleash” the Bison from retirement. The Indiana University Athletics made the big announcement Tuesday.
The video states that the official return of Hoosier the Bison will be in the Fall of this year!
