There aren’t many people having the type of year that SZA is having in 2025 so far. In January, she made her acting debut in the Issa Rae produced buddy comedy One Of Them Days, co-starring alongside Keke Palmer. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $51 million from a $14 million budget. SZA’s performance in the movie has been applauded, specifically her impressive comedic timing and her strong on-screen chemistry with Palmer. She followed that up by claiming her fifth Grammy at this year’s ceremony, She won Best R&B Song for ‘Saturn.’

Continuing her amazing run this year, the 35 yer-old visited everyone’s favorite educational children’s series, Sesame Street today. SZA joined fan favorites Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Gabrielle to perform the song ‘Be Kind to Me, Be Kind to You.’ The song emphasizes the importance of generosity, kindness and gratitude. Prior to revealing the song, SZA showed the characters a demonstration of a gratitude jar. She broke down how essential the jar would be in helping them remember things to be thankful for, especially when experiencing big emotions.

SZA joins an extensive list of artists who have graced Sesame Street’s stoop. In recent years, we’ve seen Billie Eilish join Count von Count to perform ‘Happier Than Ever,’ Anderson .Paak show up to sing about the holidays, learned the importance of community from Mickey Guyton and even found out Kacey Musgraves’ favorite colors when she appeared. It’s safe to say that SZA’s message is on brand and will resonate with audiences.

While on the subject of audiences, it’s a must that we mention SZA’s next massive move. In less than two weeks, she will hit the road with Kendrick Lamar on the Grand National Tour. Following their highly successful Super Bowl LIX halftime show, the duo will perform in the United States,  Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom. While on the nearly two month trek, SZA will be supporting SOS Deluxe: Lana, the reissue of her chart-topping 2022 album.

Shout out to SZA for having a legendary year already, even though we’re not even halfway through it. Check out ‘Be Kind to Me, Be Kind to You’ and some photos from her Sesame Street appearance below!
