O.J. Simpson’s personal Bible, which was gifted to him and inscribed by his late defense attorney Robert Kardashian Sr., has sold at auction for $80,276, including the buyer’s premium. The winning bid of $65,800 was placed late on March 29 through Goldin Auctions, following 49 total bids, 14 of which came in on the final day.
PEOPLE reports that Kim Kardashian had previously attempted to purchase the Bible for $15,000, but her offer was rejected. Malcolm LaVergne, executor of Simpson’s estate, explained that the item was already under contract for auction, making a direct sale impossible. He also noted that a $15,000 offer wouldn’t have justified the legal expenses required to change the sale terms. “If Kim had offered $150,000, we would’ve gone to court to approve it,” LaVergne stated.

The Bible, part of Goldin’s O.J. Simpson Collection, includes other memorabilia such as clothing, trophies, and a golf club set. It was originally gifted to Simpson by Robert Kardashian on June 18, 1994, just a day after Simpson’s arrest for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. In his inscription, Kardashian wrote, “God loves and he will speak to you with his words… Read this book every day. God has a definite plan for your life.”
Kardashian was a key member of Simpson’s defense team in the high-profile trial that ended in acquittal. He passed away in 2003 from esophageal cancer. Simpson later died in April 2024 from prostate cancer.
Kim Kardashian, who has pursued a legal career, previously spoke about how her studies help her feel connected to her father. Despite not acquiring the Bible, she continues to honor his legacy through her legal work.
