Quinta Brunson, the powerhouse behind Abbott Elementary, is making headlines for more than just her Emmy-winning comedy skills. The beloved star has filed for divorce from her husband, Kevin Jay Anik, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to several news sources.

The couple, who kept their relationship mostly private, tied the knot in October 2021. Despite keeping her love life low-key, Quinta gave fans glimpses into her relationship over the years.
In July 2020, she subtly confirmed her engagement with an Instagram post featuring a dazzling diamond ring and the caption, “More good news.” The couple also occasionally appeared at red carpet events, matching each other’s fly.
During the 2022 Emmys, Quinta took her historic win for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series as a time to talk about her husband. The moment was seen as not only a celebration of her talent but also a glimpse into their partnership.

She took the stage and made it a point to thank Kevin. With pure emotion, she said, “In case I am not back up here again, I have to thank my mom, dad, brothers and sisters, my cousins…my wonderful husband because he’s the most supportive man I’ve ever known and my incredible cast and show for helping me to make this show and make the pilot.”
The couple’s divorce filing also revealed that they signed a prenup, with each party responsible for their legal fees. No children are involved, and it seems both are taking steps to move forward with dignity and grace.
