On this week’s episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Unique (Joey Bada$$) continues to make Raq’s (Patina Miller) life a living hell from the shadows. Kanan (MeKai Curtis) is trying very hard to get out from underneath his mother’s shadow. Lou-Lou (Malcolm Mays) is in full music mogul mode, and Jukebox (Hailey Kilgore) saves her dad, changing her life forever in the process.
Raq Has A Tough Talk With Her Mom While Marvin Handles Her Business

Raq is still not feeling her mother, even after finding out that she is dying from cancer. The mother and daughter have a much-needed conversation following the contentious dinner Raq stormed out of after Joyce revealed the sad news to her kids.
Joyce admits she wasn’t a good mother or wife but admits their father’s decision to kill himself made life difficult for the young mother of three children at the time, trying to convince her daughter she did the best she could do despite their circumstances.
Still, Joyce’s admission is not enough for Raq. She tells her mother she is still unable to forgive her.
While that conversation is going on, Marvin (London Brown) is out doing Raq’s dirty work and trying to secure another drug connection. Marvin beats the breaks off Traymont after kidnapping him from his hotel room, forcing him to agree to link Raq with his heroin connection.
Jukebox & Krystal Has Their Differences Out, B-Rilla Gets A Product Manager

Jukebox stops by Kanan and Krystal’s new apartment and is surprised to learn that Kanan is leaving her there with his girlfriend. The former bandmates can’t stand each other.
Krystal does manage to convince Jukebox to listen to her. She apologizes for having Jukebox jumped, admitting that her former Butta mate handled business despite the odds not being in her favor.

She also explained that her behavior was related to issues she was dealing with at home, and she was using Butta to get out of her situation.
Krystal also admits that she loves Kanan and points out that no one can compete with his love for Jukebox. Krystal tells Jukebox that she wants to make peace with her to keep Kanan happy, and Jukebox hints at the possibility of them getting along.
We catch up with Lou-Lou, who’s working on music in the studio with B-Rilla (Pardison Fontaine). Their studio session gets a visit from Imani, whom Lowell switched over from the pop to now work with B-Rilla as his new product manager.

Marvin does not feel her presence and is cold towards her, so she leaves the studio. After her exit, the engineer tells Lou-Lou that Imani is a big deal, and he responds that he’s a big deal, too.

After a second conversation at Lou-Lou’s spot, Imani convinces the record producer that she is not trying to get in the way of what he’s doing with B-Rilla and just wants to help make B-Rilla a star. She even asks Lou-Lou about Famous, who is still missing.
They both seem to come to a working agreement.
Snaps & Pops Convince Kanan To Meet With Raq’s Connect Behind Her Back

Kanan meets with Snaps (Wendell Pierce) and Pop (Erika Woods) to pay off his debt to the OGs. When Pop points out that the envelope is light, he explains that one of his spots was hit.

The matching duo tells him that the hit makes him look weak, especially because he doesn’t have an established reputation and is still working under his mother. They convince Kanan that he should meet with Raq’s contact, Quan.
During his meeting with Quan, Kanan points out that he wants to establish himself without Raq and tells Quan that he can reach out directly to him without speaking with Raq because she only complicates things.
Quan smirked at the idea and set up a meeting with Stefano (Tony Danza), but that meeting didn’t go as Kanan had hoped.

Stefano tells Kanan that his mother loved him enough to borrow half a million dollars to save him, and then he is lucky to have a mother who loves him so much. Stefano says that out of respect for Raq, he won’t be doing business with him.
Unique Wants To Let The World Know He Is Back / Marvin Gets Early A Job With Stefano

Unique is tired of working from the shadows and wants to let the folks in Southside know he is not dead. He is about to do that, but Early (Chris Redd) convinces him that now is not the time.
Marvin shows up at the shop, and Unique takes a chill pill and hides.

Marvin offers Early an opportunity to make some money working with Stefano, and he agrees to it. The two meet with the mob boss, and Stefano suggests Early work at one of his locations in Corona, handling the books.
Early agrees to take the job, but Stefano warns Marvin that if Early messes up, Marvin will be the one to pay.
Sticking to the shadows, Unique teams up with Damon to hit another of Raq’s fronts. The two go in guns blazing, killing many of her associates and workers at the Chinese food warehouse. Damon gets killed in the process, but the hit does spook Raq’s associates, and they want out.
Raq tells Marvin they need to investigate because they know Damon isn’t smart enough to pull off a hit like that on his own.
Jukebox Gets Attacked At The Lesbian Club / Raq Meets With Ishaq

Now feeling free, Jukebox and her new friends are hanging out at the lesbian nightclub. After their night, Jukebox’s new friend, Mara, is attacked by a man and dragged and thrown into a vehicle.
Jukebox gets thrown down in the process and it turns out the man who snatched up Mara was her husband.
After his beating at the hands of Marvin, Traymont sets up a meeting with his supplier, Ishaq. They tell him they want a new deal, making them the supplier. Ishaq tells Raq he wants to meet with her again, but she has to come alone the next time.

Raq meets with Ishaq again, and he directs her to a car waiting in the back, instructing her to get in if she’s serious about being a supplier. The car takes her to an undisclosed location, where she meets the real supplier, Hafiz.
After a very brief conversation, Hafiz is interested in working with Raq.
Lou-Lou Is Worried About Famous, Unique Continues To Make Power Moves

During his conversation with Imani earlier, she brought up Famous, and Lou-Lou seemed pretty confident that his young artist had just run away, but it turns out that he’s actually worried about him.
Speaking with Kanan, Lou-Lou reveals that his sister Jess told him that Famous is not in Los Angeles like everyone thought, and she’s worried because no one knows where he is. Lou-Lou also knows that Famous’s mother has gone to the police looking for him.
Kanan reveals that he fears the worst for his buddy, and so does Lou-Lou.
Unique is still sticking to the shadows, but he does meet up with Sal Boselli’s widow, Teresa. He lies to her, telling her that Raq is the one responsible for the deaths of her husband and son, and vows that he will make them pay. Teresa also promises to connect him with someone who can help him.
Raq Gets More Bad News & Jukebox’s Life Has Officially Changed

Raq gets a visit from two detectives who tell her about what happened to her attorney, Andre, and have questions about his murder. She ensures them she had nothing to do with it and doubles down that their relationship was strictly professional.
After they leave, Raq knows his death is a blow, and she visibly shows frustration.
Marvin returns home to find Jukebox tending to the wounds on her face after Mara’s husband attacked her. Jukebox reveals to her father what happened, and they head to his apartment to confront him.

Marvin heads upstairs without his gun and gets physical with Mara’s husband. The fight gets deadly when Mara’s husband grabs a knife, slicing Marvin in the back, and he gets the upper hand during the fight.
It looks like we’re about to lose our favorite uncle until a gunshot rings out, and Mara’s husband drops dead after Jukebox shoots him with her father’s gun.
Jukebox and Marvin run out of the apartment and speed off. Jukebox looks as if she enjoyed taking the man’s life. At this moment, her life changed forever, and we are now seeing the Jukebox we met during Power. The episode ends.
