Fans have always received the best of both worlds when it comes to Rotimi, whether he’s transitioning back and forth in the music between R&B and Afrobeats or balancing a dual career in film and television. Thankfully, the Power star has no plans of slowing down the show — in fact, he’s got a few more on the way with the recent announcement of an upcoming tour in support of his latest album, In My Heart, In My Veins.

The 30-stop tour will cover major cities in the U.S. and Canada, kicking off this April in Toronto and closing out at the start of summer in Calgary. Before he hits the road though, you already know we had to get a “Posted On The Corner” exclusive for a preview of what we should expect. Funny enough, the proud father of two is mainly concerned with how he’ll balance his time between pleasing his fans and pleasing his kids. “For me, it’s like, ‘Dang! How am I going to see my kids as often as I want to?’,” he told DJ Misses during their one-on-one, acknowledging the pressure of scheduling breaks throughout the nine-week stint. However, his biggest approach to the task at hand is to simply just do it, further adding in his interview, “You don’t know what it’s going to feel like until you really do it. I can change my eating habits, spend as much time with my kids and my family as much as [I can] now, but once it goes, it goes. I’m excited for that feeling.”

They also discussed his recent addition to the main cast of Showtime’s The Chi, which introduced his character Charles last year in the finale for season 6. “It’s been one of the best sets that I’ve been on, if not the best,” he reveals of his time so far, although admitting that it also feels more like family alongside names like longtime friends Jacob Latimore, Luke James and show creator Lena Waithe.
