Thirteen-year-old Joshua Suddith has an exciting future ahead of him. Recently accepted to his dream school, Morehouse College, the extraordinary student also received offers from 20 other colleges, including Tennessee State University and Miles College in Alabama. A gifted scholar, he currently attends The Hills Academy in Conyers, Georgia, according to Black Enterprise.
Joshua’s academic excellence started early. His mother, Chaundra, shared that Joshua could talk by 9 months old and was reading well before turning 2. By the age of 3, he wrote a book, showcasing his determination and focus from a young age, The Hills Facebook page noted.
Over the years, Joshua has accelerated his education, skipping several grades. Now at 13, the determined scholar continues to impress with his academic achievements. He is currently dual-enrolled at Augusta Technical College, where he has earned 27 credits and maintains an impressive 3.88 GPA, as reported by WSAZ.
A student with a big dream
Joshua had dreamed of attending Morehouse College since he was 4 years old. His passion for the prestigious HBCU began when he learned that the iconic Martin Luther King Jr. attended the school. Inspired by this, Joshua made it his mission to gain acceptance to Morehouse, and now, his dream has come true. He plans to study international relations at Morehouse, aiming to make a significant impact in the field. However, he has decided to defer his enrollment for one year to complete his high school education, 11 Alive reported. This will allow him to continue his academic journey, which has already seen him excel far beyond his years.
In a statement shared with WSAZ, Joshua said his love for academic success is “driven by a passion for learning and making a positive impact in the world. Whether it’s excelling in academics or inspiring others, I am committed to growing and improving,” he added.
His mother also praised his incredible achievements, telling the outlet, “His grit and resilience speaks for itself. He didn’t let any challenges get in the way of his dreams.”
While Joshua remains dedicated to his studies, he also makes time for leisure. He enjoys hanging out with his friends and playing basketball, proving that it’s possible to work hard and still have fun. Joshua’s journey is one of exceptional talent, hard work, and endless possibilities. As he navigates his college decision, his future is undoubtedly bright, with many more accomplishments ahead.
