Super Bowl LVIII is around the corner, and there’s one question on everyone’s mind—not who will win the game, but will Kendrick Lamar perform “Not Like Us”?

The viral song—the Petty National Anthem of 2024 after winning five Grammys this year—was the final nail in the coffin of his beef with Drake. While many have declared the war officially over after Kendrick’s Grammy sweep, there’s one final stage of this battle that might actually give Drake a W: Kendrick not performing the song at the Super Bowl. It’s one of the biggest songs of the year, after all. But according to Nick Cannon, Drake’s lawsuit against Universal Music Group isn’t really about money—it’s about stopping Kendrick from performing at the Super Bowl.

Forget royalties, contracts, or industry politics—Aubrey Graham allegedly just wants to make sure he doesn’t get embarrassed on a stage as big as the Super Bowl.

Nick Cannon recently claimed on a radio show that the NFL is nervous about the potential legal ramifications of Kendrick performing the song. But let’s be honest—this is the same league that survived Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction, multiple years of Tom Brady Super Bowl wins, and whatever happened during that Black Eyed Peas halftime show. They can handle a little lyrical warfare.

If Kendrick doesn’t perform “Not Like Us,” Nick Cannon believes that’s a victory for Drake. But let’s get this straight: If one man stops another man from publicly reminding the world of his L’s in 4K, that’s a win? That’s like telling your ex to stop talking about how you cheated and calling that personal growth.

This is the same man who showed up to the Grammys in chains, called out every rapper who thought they were untouchable on “Control,” and made Alchemist sit on Untitled Unmastered beats for almost a decade.

So even if he doesn’t perform “Not Like Us” outright, don’t be surprised if he throws in a slick reference, an instrumental tease, or just stares into the camera like, “Y’all know what it is.”

Will Kendricks not doing this song affect his over all performance?
