The Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger has been sentenced to two years in prison—though she’ll only serve one—after being found guilty on multiple charges stemming from a 2024 car crash.

The incident happened back in March when Huger crashed her Maserati into a pole in Potomac, Maryland. A jury found her guilty on five out of six charges, including DUI, negligent driving, and failure to control her speed. She was acquitted of reckless driving.

During the trial, body cam footage and witness statements painted a rough picture of the situation. EMTs said she was unsteady and refused medical treatment, while police footage captured her slurring her speech and cursing at officers. She also refused a breathalyzer test and field sobriety exams.

Following her conviction, Huger has checked into a private recovery program and even skipped filming for the RHOP Season 9 reunion. Her manager said she’s focused on personal growth and has her team’s full support.

Huger is expected to speak in court before Judge Terrence McGann.
