Footage has emerged of a fiery plane crash at Toronto’s Pearson airport, showing a Delta Air Lines jet skidding along the runway, flipping over, and engulfed in flames.
With 80 people on board, The crash sent 21 people to the hospital, with three in critical condition. Passengers escaped through the plane’s upside-down doors into the bitter cold, with some standing dazed in the snow.
The cause of the crash is still unclear, but all 80 people onboard were evacuated. Toronto Pearson Airport was dealing with high winds and frigid temperatures at the time of the crash, which occurred after a snowstorm.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is leading the probe into the incident involving a CRJ900 aircraft operated by Delta’s Endeavor Air subsidiary. The 16-year-old CRJ900 can seat up to 90 people and was seen with at least one wing detached after the accident.
