Khloe Kardashian was vocal about the job Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is doing to help people during the wildfires ravaging the state. Social media also reminded her about her family’s abuse of water.
Like many of the people who the LA wildfires have impacted, the reality star is searching for answers after wildfires continue to decimate the California city, leaving many people homeless and others having to evacuate their homes.
The Kardashian-clan were forced to evacuate their lavish Calabassas digs as the fires came dangerously close to their homes. The 40-year-old reality star hopped on Instagram to slam Mayor Bass Friday evening, calling the elected official a “joke.”
Kardashian’s attack on Bass came after Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley said that budget cuts to the fire department negatively impacted their response to the fires.
Like the GOP, Kardashian didn’t miss the moment to slam Bass, sharing the interview and writing in her Instagram Stories, “”I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!””
ABC News reports that while the LA Fire Department saw cuts, the overall budget also increased.
Per ABC News:
With the new contract approved, the budget for the fire department in Fiscal Year 2024 – 2025 increased from $819.6 million to $895.6 million. When compared to the previous year’s budget (Fiscal Year 2023 – 2024), this current year’s fire department budget in total is larger by $58.4 million. According to a document from the city administrative officer, the increase in this year’s budget was approved specifically to meet salary and benefit increases included in the new union contract.

While Kardashian and others wasted no time attacking Bass, others, such as actors Yvette Nicole Brown and Kim Whitley, who are Los Angeles residents, defended Bass.
