REAL ID Enforcement
Starting May 7, 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will require REAL ID-compliant identification for domestic air travel and access to certain federal facilities. Travelers should update their IDs as soon as possible to avoid disruptions. Visit your state’s DMV or the DHS website to learn how to obtain a REAL ID.
Entering the UK with ETA
Beginning January 8, 2025, U.S. and European travelers visiting the UK must register for the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). Modeled after the U.S. ESTA system, the ETA costs approximately $13 and is valid for multiple entries over two years. It is not a visa and doesn’t replace existing visa requirements. Applications can be submitted via the UK government’s website or the ETA app.
