The Nokia “Snake” app is considered to be the first app which was created in 1997. Of course apps didn’t become mainstream until the release of Apple’s iPhone 10 years later, launching in 2007. Since then technology as changed as the world has. Right before our lives changed due to the 2020 pandemic, there were about 204 billion app downloads, shared by nationaltoday.com and according to Statista, there were around 257 billion mobile app downloads worldwide in 2023, as our lives have become even more digital.
