For this iconic moment, she wore the same Elie Saab creation she debuted at the 2002 Oscars—a dress now nearly as iconic as Halle herself.

Video from Elie Saab’s festivities shows her gliding on the runway, reminding fans and fashion lovers of the first time she premiered the gown (and took home the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role).
Halle’s ornate gown featured a sheer, floral-embroidered bodice paired with a deep red skirt. The colors perfectly complemented her skin tone, making her melanin pop, while the skirt accentuated her tiny waist and gorgeous curves. The mesh top added just the right amount of sultry elegance.
She styled her hair in a sleek top knot and completed her look with glam makeup.
