President Joe Biden has a pretty big pending request for almost $100 billion, and some of that money is going towards rebuilding Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge. Before Biden leaves the office, he is standing on his promise to rebuild the bridge, In a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson Biden asked for the $100 billion in emergency relief funding, and that the bridge rebuilding be at “at 100 percent Federal cost share.”
In the letter Biden wrote,
The Congress has previously responded on a bipartisan basis to support communities in the wake of natural disasters,”
“It is our sworn duty now to deliver the necessary resources to ensure that everyone in communities reeling from Hurricanes Helene and Milton — and those still recovering from previous disasters — have the Federal resources they need and deserve.”
