Wicked: Part One is a musical fantasy film based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 book “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.” The book tells the backstory of the witches Elphaba and Glinda’s journey before Oz. Elphaba deals with misjudgment due to her green skin and allows that judgment to overpower her gifts while Glinda is searching for her true heart. The two become friends at school, and later, their friendship is challenged, causing the witches to take two different paths.
