Supermodel Anok Yai made a stunning return to Howard University on October 19 during the school’s 100th homecoming, and her appearance was everything we dreamed of. The 26-year-old, now one of the most recognizable faces on the runway, strutted across the same yard where she was first discovered.

Among a crowd of students, alumni, and supporters, Anok sashayed, posed, and owned every inch of the pavement.

While serving looks for both onlookers and cameras, Anok rocked a fierce mixed-moda trench coat. The coat’s black leather panels and leopard print was such a fall vibe, and the cinched waist perfectly accentuated her slim frame.

She completed her look with high heels, oversized brown shades, and a glamorous beauty and hair moment. Anok’s deep chocolate skin glowed with soft, natural makeup, and her short brown pixie haircut added an extra touch of chic.

Homecoming attendees couldn’t get enough – and we don’t blame them. They gagged, cheered, and took several videos of Anok’s entrance.

Anok’s runway-ready return to Howard is a full-circle fashion moment. Representing luxury brands like Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Tiffany & Co., Anok was first discovered at a Howard homecoming. And the story of her discovery is straight out of a fashion fairytale.

“I went to Howard University for their homecoming, and this photographer, Steve Hill, took a photo of me. I wasn’t even ready,” Anok shared with Vogue.

Within 24 hours of that photo being posted, Anok’s Instagram following shot up by 30K, and Next Models agency wasted no time flying her out for an interview. They signed her on the spot.

Anok’s return is a powerful reminder of how destiny works. Sis, when something is meant for you, it is for you. Especially when paired with a killer homecoming look and a slay-worthy moment.
