On August 22, Vice President Kamala Harris officially accepted the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in a navy blue suit, marking a moment that will undoubtedly go down in history. With the acceptance, Harris is the first Black woman to secure a major party’s nomination for the highest office in the land, making the occasion as significant (and stylish) as it was groundbreaking.
For this historic moment, Vice President Harris rocked a deep navy blue suit from Chloe that was nothing short of iconic. She also reminisced about moving around a lot as a kid before eventually planting roots in San Francisco. And in classic Kamala fashion, she dropped some wisdom from her mom, who told her to “never do anything half-a**ed,” a quote that had the crowd cheering.
Harris’ speech wrapped up four days of the DNC’s political speeches, surprise performances, and celeb cameos. With appearances from Oprah, Lil’ Jon, Common, Kerry Washington, the Obamas and more, this year’s celebration was one for the books.
