Kelontae Gavin is giving fans an intimate look at his artistry. This August, he’ll headline the “Diary of a Country Boy Live Recording” event.
A South Carolina native, the singer will take the stage at New Bethel Sounds of Praise in Summerville. Gavin is promising to leave the audience feeling inspired and entertained as they experience his heartfelt lyrics from a country boy perspective. He has been singing in church from a young age – about the age of 5 years old.

The now 25-year-old has always been very intentional about sharing himself with his fans. His last album “Testify” was very personal as he shared the importance of staying faithful to God through any struggles or dark times. He spoke to BET back in 2023 about how sharing the story of his child trauma with the world helped someone in need of guidance and support.
“Someone told me that a story that I shared about being healed from my childhood trauma helped them,” he said. “In Gospel music, we don’t just sing from what God has done but we sing from what we’re having to go through.”
Gavin has been mum on the details of the type of topics he’ll sing about this time around but has confirmed the live recording will feature traditional church sounds. He took to Instagram to share an instrumental track he worked on in the studio that contained church claps.
He is also very much in demand as he said on social media. Tuesday (July 9), more than 700 tickets have been secured for the live recording event. VIP tickets are going for $100 a pop and include a meet and greet with Gavin, priority seating, merchandise from the event and more.
The Diary of a Country Boy Live Recording event is set for August 9 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available here.
